Pinoy Wasteland

I like the title, so forgive my overindulgence. Hahaha! One more time, Hahaha! One last time…. Hahaha!

I didn’t realize how much I miss working with HTML codes until my friend asked me to work on the layout of her blog, which I did, but by my standards my creation ended up ordinary. Since migrating here to WP, I feel so creatively restricted and so I might consider transferring to a different webhost once my domain mapping expires.

I watched the pilot episode of Chuck and I really like it, the show about the geek who finds himself between the CIA and NSA. I miss the old geeky me, I don’t think I am a geek anymore (but all my real-life friends think that I am). Maybe because there are bigger geeks on the net.

I almost regret not accepting that job in a local geek squad (I may have embellished my words before). Heck, I almost feel bad I didn’t pursue that job at PC Mall. I’ll just think of the 10 thousand peso difference. OK, I am over it now! And let me reiterate, I almost regret.

But don’t worry, the old geek may not be dead yet. I will just save some money and I will buy all the gadgets I want tapos ipapa-G-mask ko gamit aking special logo. Pati kotse ko ipapa-G-Mask ko. Nyehehehe.

And so you might be wondering, what’s the big deal about being a geek anyway. I mean, I am unpopular and everything but at least I have an identity! And I don’t feel stupid.

And with what I have to put up in High School, I feel that I deserve to be self-righteous.

I don’t understand why people some people think being a geek is a trend. Believe me, there are people who like to exude a geekish air. Yes, I admit, they are smart but they are not geeks. I don’t understand why all these people like to be cool geeks. I wear dark-rimmed glasses because I like it not because it is trendy and I read comic books because I like the stories. I had an argument before with a girl who takes Birds of Preyfrom the series (that was cancelled so long ago) seriously. I am not even a fan of the comic book but she just wouldn’t believe me. Oh, well. We can’t convince everybody that Helena is not Catwoman’s daughter in the original comics.

I don’t know what makes a geek. You just know them.

I’ll be getting back to work again soon. Doing tech support once more…. with call center jocks. And so begins my odyssey towards brainlessness.
