I have been a blogger since January 2005. That is a long time. Bloggers come and go and sometimes I wonder why I am still here. Back in the day, most people don’t know what a blog is. Now there are more bloggers.
Back in the day, mostly geeks write blogs. Back then, there were few Filipinos who write. Now people write blogs, to monetize, to join the bandwagon or because celebrities do it among other things. I write for reasons that I think most people do. Because it is nice to write. Because I love to do what I do. I was in college back then when I first saw a blog at PEX.
I wrote irregularly, I wrote ideas on top of my head, I criticized and made fun of people and of things. I had a reader one day and another and some more (some I don’t know what happened, a lot has gone). It became more enjoyable. I think we became friends. In a weird personal-but-impersonal way. I wrote for them and I wrote for myself. I was able to find people like me who felt my pain and wrote for and against my beliefs. Their comments I have treasured. I did this through college til I graduated and worked. I guess I neglected blogging in recent months but I am now back.
Most bloggers from before disappeared, concerned more about their lives. In a way, so did I. There are plenty of better things to do, I suppose, than blogging.
Now, I will bloghop and the blogsphere has changed so much in the past 4 years.
I write now because it is fun and because I enjoy writing. I guess I may never publish a book and it is nice to know I have a spot on the world wide web that people may read. I stopped caring for regular readers, I write now for myself and I will keep on writing. Until inspiration departs me, yun yun eh! No pressure, no censorship, just me… me and my thoughts. Not entirely original all the time but it is still me!

-this is also the reason I write. Masaya kasi yung feeling na naisusulat mo yung mga bagay na di mo masabi, and yung alam mo this is the only way to let your self be heard. O kahit di man nila ito marinig, well atleast nailabas mo yung saloobin mo. We don’t need a lot of comments in our blog, kung hindi rin naman nila naiintindihan yung opinion mo.. ang totoo nyan, di naman natin sila pinipilit paniwalain sa mga bagay na alam natin ay tama.. magkakaiba man tayo ng opinyon, pero iisa lang ang rason kung bakit nagtagal tayo sa blogworld.
Una, kasi gusto natin ang ginagawa natin at nageenjoy tayo d2. This is the purpose of this campaign, yung eencourage ang mga tao na magblog.. because this is an outlet to express your thoughts. Hindi xa pagyayabang na “yeah! SENIOR BLOGGER” ako.. meaning, mas magaling ako sayo! hindi ganun ang ibig sabihin nito.. the campaign is a tribute to all the senior bloggers who influences you.. and to encourage more people to blog.
