Ooooh! Meron pala ako nun!

Sunday, February 1st, 2009

Sometimes, I will be reminded of how I was in the Internet by the notifications I have on the email.

And I received a message from an exquisite-looking Caucasian lady commenting on my profile (something I have not updated since the time that I still had electro-charged brain cells functioning). I hate how I’ve gotten stupid. Not that I have been smart to begin with. Hahaha!

And I am still constantly reminded by 43 things to gain weight every week. Letse!

But in a way, it is a good thing that I am reminded that I used to read a lot of books and I should gain weight.

Sabi na nga ba! Dapat kong mag-Internet lagi.

Real social life – zero! Once thriving Internet social life - nil!

From Middle-Earth

Sunday, October 26th, 2008

Na-miss ko na ang pagbabasa ng fantasy, recently binasa ko yung The Hobbit ni Tolkien at naisip ko, it would be cool if I have my temporary template to be using Tolkien. Just temporarily. Pansin nyo si Gandalf naglalakad sa Shire.

Oh! My geekier girlfriend told me of a site that generates Middle-Earth names. And using my full name (including maiden name), I came out with these:

According to the Red Book of Westmarch,
In Middle-earth, jeeper (name withheld for security reasons) was a
Lonely Ent

Elven Name Possibilities
The root name suitable for feminine and masculine is:
Nilfin
Another masculine version is:
Nilfinion

Hobbit lad name: Mosco Tussock from Greenfields

Dwarven Name: Garin Brassanger
This name is for both genders.

Orkish Name: Azghash the Sleazy
This name is for both genders.

I am still working for an idea on what to do with my blog.

New Host

Sunday, October 19th, 2008

I was finally able to take time to work with my new webhost. And surprisingly, I was able to do it independently.

I was able to transfer all my old posts and you would think nothing has changed (except maybe this plain theme I am using).

I will be working on my theme on the following days (or weeks) or whenever I have more time. I just need to learn a few things about all these stuff.

Now, that I have less restrictions as far as visuals or scripts go, expect me to work on a better site.

I am so proud of myself.

Forum Idle

Thursday, November 8th, 2007

It’s fun coz there are a lot of smart people out there.

bloghopping and a short thought on friendster

Friday, November 2nd, 2007

I have nothing to do. Work is draining me of my life essence, I think. Next year, I will be considering other career options. I don’t want to burden my feeble mind anymore.

Surfing the net. I have no idea what to do. I really don’t have anything in mind that feels suitable enough to write about.

Welcome

Tuesday, October 9th, 2007

This will be the first time I’ll be making an official post on this domain name. I transferred all my posts and comments from my old blogger account (I will always hold a special spot for blogger in my heart because it was my first). I read somewhere that you can also transfer your comments from Haloscan but when I opened it, none of them is there anymore so unfortunately I will never know if it really works. Darn them.

And yeah, it’s been a long time since I paid for the registry and took me sometime to convince someone to loan me 10 dollars for the domain mapping, so I probably spent around 900 pesos for this.

It’s a work in progress, so a lot of the pages are still drafts, I will be adding more once I get in the mood.

jeeper recommends

Tuesday, September 18th, 2007

I am not in the mood to write anything today. I was planning to write something about the human spirit but I got too lazy and my mind is in too much disarray right now.

So, I will be recommending stuff that I really like. Little thinking required in writing the post.

Books

  • Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World. One of the best Murakami books I have read and all Murakami books I have read, I really like. This is something I’d recommend if you’re not into the whole whiny feel (that I happen to like a lot, thank you) that is well-known in his books. Part-fantasy and part-postmodern (I am not really sure if the world scifi applies to this really cool book), it made me almost cry. The last part was breath-taking. I have no words to describe how cool it is. Go ahead, read it, relish it and spread his awesomeness. If you hate the book, you are stupid and you don’t have taste.
  • The Sandman Vol. 2 The Doll’s House. It is the first from the volumes I have read and while browsing through a forum it said to be one of the best. And with little knowledge of the whole story arc at that time, I was immediately hooked. Some people don’t like the illustrations but I really did, it grows in you. It is the book that Gaiman says he has found his voice. It makes reference the bzou (if you are familiar with my online activity, you’ll get it). There’s a convention for serial killer and so much more. There are character’s here that you won’t easily forget.Costs around Php 900.00 though.

Anime

  • Death Note. It’s good just plain good. The story was excellent and the animation was exceptional. The antihero (named Light) is immediately likable but I started to despise him when he started going megalomaniac, then like him again during the middle part, then loathed him again after he killed his arch nemesis. Basta ang galing! If you like the same characters that I do in fiction you are gonna go crazy over L (it doesn’t stand for Light) . His early departure made me want to cry.
  • Basilisk. A story of 2 rival Ninja Clans. Two fall in love. It’s like Romeo and Juliet gone violent. A lot of killing that I really like, the action sequences were breathtaking. Episode 1 pa lang panalo na! And it does make a good observation about hate, prejudice and other aspects of being human. Did I mention? There was a lot of violence.

Movies

  • Gattaca. I don’t know why I have just seen this only recently, may have missed it for reasons I don’t know. It’s just how I like my futuristic movies to be like. Sends an interesting message about on how our reliability on science let’s us overlook other stuff. It’s really nice. Not that I am anti-science, sometimes there are things like faith. Not that I now believe in you know what, I don’t think the movie also sends that message. It’s inspiring. Really.

Internet

  • esnips. It’s a great means to do some file-sharing. E-books, pictures, music, etc. But you can make public or private.
  • Utrackmovies. I have my librarything for my books and I have Utrack for my movies. I still haven’t finished updating my collection but you can visit it, click here and enter jeeper for password. By the way, my movies wouldn’t really be considered inside some of the categories it’s in kasi nga marami sa kanila nabili ko lang sa mga gilid-gilid ng St. Francis Square. Hehehe.

Music

I don’t listen much to modern music these days. I am listening to a lot of old songs right now, Stone Temple Pilot and The Carpenters. I am really amused by Karen Carpenter’s voice. Let me listen right now. Man! I can’t get over listening to Superstar.

PS

I am still working on my new domain, there were some problems with the SSL of my registrar. They said they’ll manually make some changes on it. So, yeah. I am still waiting for their email. I should have sent them a word earlier. And I was thinking,I may have done something stupid.

The thing about Friendster

Tuesday, April 17th, 2007

Don’t you just hate it when you go to friendster and they have something new in it… I don’t mind the new features pero minsan nakakaasar. Tulad ng testimonial tapos may comments, after a few days pinagsama nila yung Testimonial and Comments. Then I really don’t like it when people send messages sa testimonials. O! Why do these people send chain messages at friendster! It’s bad enought that I have to delete them on my email, pati dun meron pa.

I really don’t get it why they like it that way.

sinubukan ko mag-upload ng picture, syet! Hindi na-upload dahil over 1MB. Tamad pa naman ako mag-resize ng pictures and it goes as well with other websites. So maybe I am being unreasonable.

I guess I am not totally dissatisfied with friendster.. I think it’s still better than myspace that I find too cluttered at least anudun pa rin yung minimalism na gusto ko (except when you go to profiles).

That’s my relationship with friendster, I hate and I love it. Pakyu friendster!

Audio on my Profile

Saturday, April 14th, 2007

Ha! I decided to record my voice. I have always wanted to do that. I always knew my voice sounds crappy. I think some people like my voice but personally I do not like it. It is too soft, too bad the deep, husky voice disappeared. I always had an accent.

I was rehearsing a couple of times, I even wrote a nice little script…. I tried to be witty, smart, cool (and none seems to come out well) and after a couple of retakes, I was ready to give up. The scripts that I was doing which was really smart and I believe very funny, once released from my lips doesn’t come out right. So I just blurted out something and I suppose this one is good enough. I can’t really change my natural speaking voice.

So I uploaded it to geocities and had it embedded to the blog that I never used. Had it as a link on my profile. So now you can hear, that’s my voice. Also added a new picture… I really can’t make up my mind with what picture I am gonna be using on my profiles. I am really not planning to put any pictures that will show my face in its pure inmagnificence, but it was hard for me to decide. And the task of updating my many profiles is so tediously tiresome. Erase Student, replace Technical Support Representative. Go to another site; Erase Student, replace Technical Support Representative. I will probably finish this at another time, I seem to have forgotten some of my login IDs.

Internet Accounts

Wednesday, January 12th, 2005

Wello at this time and age, the Internet is a basic tool of modern living. Myself in particular. But we all have out favorites. Lately I am busying myself with bolgs such as this.

All these memberships I have madalas ‘ni di ko na nagagamit anymore. I cancelled my http://myspace.com account because all the people who add me up are gay people. Huh! Maybe its the picture. besides, myspace has little privay, anybody with connection can view your profile and your entries. Haay! Kahit papaano, http://friendster.com still is the best way to keep connected with those u havent gotten in touch with. 3 Years ago, Napakapanget ng service nito, but at least noon, I was in because not everyone has the aforementioned account. The service has definitely gotten better. I would only be disappointed if the minimalistic and uncluttered look would change. Because of the trend nagkaroon ng trend, naglabasan ang Pinoyster, Hipstir, Itzamatch. I have memberships with the stated pero i havent checked it for sometime na. Merong http://mukamo.com, which is better thasb some pero, I want my accounts to be more specialized. It has forums but I like using PEX for that.

Hassle nga lang yung sending of messages so I still opt for Yahoo! Apparently everyone has an account and it has so many features. I just dont like joining some restricted groups kasi if u dont check in like a fewe days puno na ang mailbox mo!

What the Hell is PEX?! It is http://pinoyexchange.com, regulars of the site are called PEXers. I like the RoT(Realm of thought) Forum the most. Di ko na sasabihin yung username ko kasi I might be the one na umaaway sa inyo(or sa akin). Here u can discuss silly topics(like underwear) to the socially relevant and the philosophical. OK talaga, Once u try it, u become addicted to go everyday.

I will have this updated soon…….
